a walk through the edesign process, some design boards and some finished spaces..oh! and a few snaps of our living room

It's always a little tricky when you focus on edesign like I do to have a real before + after portfolio. But on the other hand that's a really really great reason to love edesign.. you complete the room at your pace!

I wanted to have one post where I can send people to see what I do. Everyone's different and I love working with your different dynamics and taste and ideas.

I've promised a tour of our new home and I promise it's coming.. probably in the fall once the girls are off to school and I get my normal work days back! Here though is my happy space, I love this living room and the ease and comfort that it delivers. It's casual, inviting and 100% where I want to put my feet up!

Let's look at a bedroom that is still in the works and is so close to done I can't wait to see..

Here's the over all feel we were looking at-

This is a lovely little sitting room..

a fabulous living and dining room in the same home..

a vacation home that we turned a bedroom into this..

and came up with this scheme for the living room..

and then I had the treat of working on her daughters space :)

and I've recently had the pleasure of sourcing some headboards and pillows for their master :)

sometimes as we just start a space and I want to get our direction, I'll send a board that looks like this..then you get to tell me what you like/love/hate and we continue from there :) This board just went out to a client last week..

  I hope that gives you an idea of my style and what I do for my clients! Each of you are different and that is so important to me. Your home should be a reflection of you and what you love.. I don't stop at a certain amount of revisions, I'm confident I'll be able to get you exactly what your hoping for that I'm willing to edit and edit.. but we usually don't edit that much! It's a fun and personal experience that is affordable and set to your budget and pace! xo S

an edesign after | I love this space

Pamela's home is one I could walk right into and continue to live my life just like I do. Her tastes are so similar to mine, and we love the same mix of elements. Her home was an absolute joy to work on.. have a peek at the afters as she is making amazing progress adding the finishing details-

( that is so a part of e design I love so much..once you have all the elements that we've talked about and have been added virtually to your space, you purchase and add them as you can and as budget allows! )

Pamela's front room is right off her entry and is a little more of a formal sitting room-

ahh I love this SO much-

She was lacking a defined entry so we added a narrow console to act as a spot to pop your keys and mail, and it plays into the living room so wonderfully-

by adding two slip covered chairs to her existing dining room furniture added some softness and made it really inviting-

umm, does a kitchen get much better than this?! We added two amazing lamps to flank the sink and wow do they add alot of character and interest to an ( already amazing ) space!

At the opposite end of the house is a family room that is a little more playful, colorful and cozy. Great pillows, monograms, a cozy rug and marble topped table invite the family to hang out, the kids to play and completes such an amazing living space!

this client was looking to introduce coral, grey and navy with a bit of an industrial feel to their space. They have a black leather sectional and creamy beige walls.

( I'm sorry I don't post all the sources... it's part of the design fee that my clients pay, it's not really fair to them.. hope you can understand :)

e design, where to start

pulling together a cohesive look for a new build can be a bit of a process. I met Kathryn today, who is working with Tara to transform a dining table and chairs for the new space. When I asked Kathryn what the overall look she wanted to achieve was she answered with a mix of hollywood glam, kelly wearstler, mary macdonald.. but it needs to be practical for a young family and cost effective. Here's the inspiration I put together for Kathryn to narrow down her look-

One common factor in all these rooms is grey. Whether soft and pale or boldly dark-

I think this Kelly Wearstler room has a palette we can work with for Kathryn's home.

The chairs in this next photo are similar to Kathryn's ( shown )..and I love them in this grey. The seats..how about a rich hued velvet. It would add an unexpected touch of glam-

Kathryn was thinking about a robins egg blue for the living room..I'd love to see her opt for something a bit calmer and easier to build a palette off of, like Benjamin Moores Tranquility-

( This color is just off the top of my head, in the morning I'll have a good look at my BM colors and see if there is an even better fit! )

Something like this will play gorgeously off the white kitchen, ginger island and dark floors. I love this color and this color from Lauren Lane Decors new Annie Sloan collection. Wouldn't the paler grey look incredible with a hint of gold around the edges?!

So I'll run all these thoughts past Kathryn and we'll carry on from here..either with more details or back to the drawing board. All good design has to start somewhere!

What started as an office is becoming a piano room..a place for playing, reading, quiet time. Kelli's style is just like mine, so as well as functional, inviting and gorgeous, cozy is high on the list of needs. With a busy young family, what a fabulous addition to their home.

Here's how the room started-
