why didn't I think of this before?!

We needed a few more bins for the girls playroom, so we headed out to Ikea for a quick and easy dinner and a little shopping. As we are walking through the store we found some inexpensive black out roll blinds for our bedroom (yay!) and carried on through the bedding. Now it's been some time since I have had a cover on our duvet. I cannot find one I like! In the winter I add my swans island blanket and cable throw over top, so it's only in the summer months it's bare. Well as we were going through the bedding, as a joke I walked up to a black duvet cover and said to Kevin " ha, I bet you'd love this!" totally as a joke. And then it hit me.. it's perfect! We have cream and white and wood tones and it totally needs the black to ground it! Even better was the $39.99 King price tag! Don't worry, I'm not using the coordinating pillow cases that came with it, it's just going to be folded all crisp and grounding at the bottom of the bed.

I was flipping through pictures tonight and found this one of the girls, who, when my Gramercy monogrammed pillow arrived had to arrange it just so on the bed. So funny. They were patting it and fluffing it.. and got it just right in their eyes for this shot. Love it :)

sexy curves.. love the sleek x legs on the double stools, the fabulous lines of an amazing headboard, and how perfectly perfect is that tiny little bit of glitter hanging above? Pure indulgence in a bed of sweeping ruffles. In the most flattering hue too-

hollywood glam + boho

while I would never quote Hollywood glam as my style, there are ( quite! ) a few things in this ( spectacular! ) apartment that are amazing-

I am all over palm fronds, ikat and black and white. Gold, glass and fantastic vignettes-

great lighting, great art, great tunic-

and this image of Ellen Pompeo's bedroom has my heart fluttering too. My mom bought me the most gorgeous blue and white hand blocked tablecloth for christmas ( see here for image ) it could be pretty gorgeous hung-

craving a girly space? There are alot of ways to add a bit of feminine into a room. Some are subtle, others not.

Moroccan lighting, ornate headboard, and a glittering bust. oh, and a bit of fur..

a kitchen that is beyond perfection-

So serene. I love the crispness.. it's soft, yet crisp and has such subtle color. MMM, such a favorite-

The mirror ( I WANT ) the windows ( come on, they're FABULOUS! ) with a calm and quiet dose of romance-

the final update to the Ikea dresser update-

Remember when I started my Ikea dresser update? Once I had painted and lightly stained it, I was pretty smitten with it. I had been thinking about changing up the hardware.. but like many things, there is so much more going on than to think to look for some I liked. Plus I didn't want to spend a bunch on it. While snooping around home depot last weekend I thought I would have a peek-

and for $2.00 a pull, found these.

I like them :)

I really like that they cost me $12.
