hollywood glam + boho

while I would never quote Hollywood glam as my style, there are ( quite! ) a few things in this ( spectacular! ) apartment that are amazing-

I am all over palm fronds, ikat and black and white. Gold, glass and fantastic vignettes-

great lighting, great art, great tunic-

and this image of Ellen Pompeo's bedroom has my heart fluttering too. My mom bought me the most gorgeous blue and white hand blocked tablecloth for christmas ( see here for image ) it could be pretty gorgeous hung-

todays hint of pink

Here's a lesson for me. Slow down, sit down and pay attention-
It's clear that when I was reading the March issue of Elle Decor, I wasn't paying attention. If I was I wouldn't have missed the amazing Manhattan apartment of Paula Caravelli. It's filled with light, color and family painted art. It's a lovely space, and just in case you missed it like I did, here it is.

A secretary / armoire that one day I will inherit from my mom and dad. They have two beautiful ones that my sister and I will happily take off their hands :)

calming room with a dose of color in a cashmere throw

what fun, a chalk wall and traditional furnishings in their sons room.

( Paula, this made me think of you- I love that you have a chalk wall and the kids don't know! )

It was love when we were first invited into Jill Stewarts amazing New York apartment.

You can only imagine how much I would love a glimpse inside her 7000 square foot Hamptons home.


Her shop has the same airy qualities as her New York home.

The lovely home of NUMB3RS star Sophina Brown.

Love love love that she shops at Target, has furniture by Mitchell Gold + Bob Williams, and a Chesapeake outdoor sectional from Pottery Barn.

Gorgeous accents of blue throughout the home, a ladder to her loft bedroom and a great terrace that over looks west Hollywood.

A very cool, and very livable home.

When flipping through the November issue of Elle Decor I was struck by the beauty of designer Darryl Carters Washington DC townhouse. It is monochromatic, sophisticated a little time worn and truly magnificent. There are so many pieces of this home that speak to me.
The bench seat is taken to a whole new level. I seriously enjoy the black interior doors.

Not much needs to be said for this kitchen. How fabulous is the built in butlers pantry right on the island? The windows, doors, double range- it appears so simple and almost rustic but truly glamorous when you consider all the elements.

A great harvest table with stacks of great reading. I love the combination of wood, crisp black and white.

oh! The desk. The chair. The mirror.

a large and comfortable bedroom that is timeless in it's furnishings.

quiet time

when I saw this image I fell in love with the idea of a quiet little spot in the home. Yes, it could be an office as well, but what the photo captures is just simply peace + quiet. What home doesn't need a space like that?
