it's lovely

I came upon this post renovated room by Peter Fallico in an old Canadian House & Home.. I really love it's quiet simplicity. There are some fabulous details, but it's a quiet space. #1 priority in a principal bedroom for me!

blushing

coral, blush, a tinge of apricot.. peach if you must. Adds a certain bit of well, glow doesn't it?
Maybe a new coral blush is in order.. speaking of new makeup, what's your go to line?

rustic sensibilities

I call it rustic. Call it casual, simple or smart. Easy lines, wood and well picked accessories.. I feel a little bit of rustic in these images-

and I love it

I like your curves

In a world of tufted + upholstered, sleek and modern, there is something just plain fancy dancy about a bed with curves- and a tufted bed with curves, even better.

light + bright

who doesn't like a little bit of girly girl every once in a while? Reese's style is always perfect, and a mix of bright pink, blue, yellow and green.. gorgeous!

Calleigh's ( my daughter, she's 4 ) headboard finally got it's makeover. It seriously took all of 5 minutes this morning. One coat of grey paint and ta da...I love it, so does she-

painting furniture

Do you play musical furniture? This dresser my mom + dad bought for Calleigh's baby room 5 years ago. She now has an armoire, so Lauren had the dresser. Now she has the white model of this dresser, and Calleigh's original piece is now my side table. So thanks mom :)
To get to the point, I am thinking about doing the same treatment to this as I did to my desk. Staining the outside darker and painting the drawers a creamy white.

weekend plans

A weekend with a barbecue, a visit from mom + dad, and forecasts for lovely weather.. what could be better-
Hope your weekend is a fun one! What are you up to?

A fabulous dose of color in a bedroom, the kitchen that sold me on my first ever issue of House Beautiful ( I know, was I living under a rock? ) and a cheery room that is inspiring some choices for the girls rooms. We have to mix pink and blue-

a new pillow

I had a fabulous weekend-
Going to Red Deer for Loris baby shower was great. It was fantastic to see her and Peyton as well as a few ladies I have not seen in way too long ( Miranda + Holly! )
On my way home I popped into Homesense and found a pillow very similar to this one. Down insert with a creamy cotton cover with an almost faded coral... for $15 - sold. I know the coral is getting overdone, but not in my house. It's the perfect addition to my bed-

which is just like this ( headboard + bedding. I do not claim to have windows nearly that fabulous ). I have a room that is cream + white - I like a quiet place to go at night.

Below, in blue - adds a subtle little 'something' -

sleep please

thinking about a space like this right now - not an abundance of sleep at our house last night. When a little girl wants to wake up...she wakes us up :)
