dressing a designer

Karla Amadatsu. Ahmazing Canadian designer. Most recently published in Style at Home. This girl and I are like two peas in a pod, her style is so me, and what I love. As a busy designer and mom who is non stop all day with meeting clients, over seeing installs on site, she needed some advice on what to wear... a great hue

I used to say it was my favorite color when I was a little girl. More due to the fact that I think it was my sisters ;)

I am making up my own mind now, and I still love it. There is subtle evidence all through my house.. and the night shirt- it's Kayce Hughes ( and it's heaven, I love mine, Kevin doesn't mind it either, ha! )

it's in the mix

If I stay true to what I love, and all the time I feel more and more comfortable and confident in doing so ( it takes time doesn't it?! ) I love the mix of warm wood in a space. Whether old or new, an inexpensive find, or full of family history, mixed with a creamy white and black, I just love it-

and a classic, that I'm sure we all fell for when it was originally featured in Canadian House and Home, a kitchen by Tommy Smythe.. the floors, lighting, table, cabinets.. it's an elegance that's timeless-

I loved seeing the details of Style at Home magazines editor in chief, Erin McLaughlins weekend wedding away.

I adore details.

my kind of kitchen

this kitchen is absolute perfection to me. If I could have my dream kitchen, this just about sums it up-

Mix of white and wood, love the diagonal hardwood.

leaded cabinets, kick plates, curved counter top and back splash.

Now I know it's not every ones style but it's the mix of traditional elements in this kitchen that is pure perfection for me :)

Senior designer Natalie Hodgins along with Sarah Richardson dreamed up a sweet, bright and wonderfully inviting space by re imagining an Ikea kitchen.

My favorites? The marble back splash and the grey cabinets. My girls would flip for a little window bench at the table...

I can't even tell you how many times I have looked at this gorgeous kitchen. It's perfect. Of course I love the lighting, I have those too -
