weekend plans

A weekend with a barbecue, a visit from mom + dad, and forecasts for lovely weather.. what could be better-
Hope your weekend is a fun one! What are you up to?

A fabulous dose of color in a bedroom, the kitchen that sold me on my first ever issue of House Beautiful ( I know, was I living under a rock? ) and a cheery room that is inspiring some choices for the girls rooms. We have to mix pink and blue-

fresh blooms and a hint of black

I can't even tell you how many times I have looked at this gorgeous kitchen. It's perfect. Of course I love the lighting, I have those too -

Crisp black walls, ornate chairs, great light-

the sweetest table setting-

There is so much about this space I adore, the natural wood, crisp white, fresh tulips-

More proof of how I love a touch of black in a space.

around the house this morning

I'm pretty certain I won't actually paint, but I'm keeping the chips up for a few days just in case one of them strikes my fancy-
You probably know by now I'm terrified of color. I know dark beige probably doesn't apply..

As a treat ( for me! ) I made Janis's cookies this morning. Yum-
If you want to try these orange chocolate chip cookies, the recipe is here.

black + blue

An eating nook + gallery-
Love the casualness of framed art on the floor.

The settee of my dreams, great pattern and another fab gallery-
I could see myself spending alot of time in this room. I'm pretty crazy about the light too.

Galley kitchens are hands down my favorite, add great lighting and caned chairs - wow

Great art, great rug, I love how black grounds a room-

daily dose, Deborah Jaffe

Love this space. It's very simple ( which I adore ) and the rug adds some serious personality. I'm hoping Deborah will stop in again and tell us where it is!

do you Joe?

Last night the girls and I popped into Superstore. Love the prices, dread taking the girls there. It's a big store with really big carts that is really time consuming to pick up a few things. But we did anyway. I may have told them they could pick out new jammies. And at $8 why not.
They happily picked out new jammies and a long sleeve tshirt, on sale for $1.94. Yup, you heard me right. I can remember a few years ago, if it wasn't GAP kids, Calleigh wasn't wearing it. Oh man was I wrong. The girls love to pick out their own clothes, and for the life of me Lauren cannot stay clean. So cute inexpensive clothes are perfect. I'm not devastated if something is stained or ruined :) I am looking forward to going back to find some cute simple summer dresses for me-
