My favorite online shopping category is lounge. Serious. I take comfy clothes very seriously ;) If I'm not comfy I'm all kinds of cranky.. these Anthropologie loungers arrived last week. I don't like to take them off...

busy busy + a happy moment

I have been a very neglectful blogger this week..$10 questions are SO popular which I love, I'm glad they are working so well for you.. we've been busy every afternoon getting some initial house plans set and of course my darling design board clients are getting alot of my time too :) With the $10 Q's popularity, I am scheduling them when I receive them..you'll get a note back saying I've got you on my schedule for ______ :)It's helping my time management famously! One thing that has me VERY excited..I have a custom shelving piece like this planned for our eating area.. ... ... .. . . . :) :)

loving my Lulie Wallace and a gallery wall color story-

I was so very happy to see my UPS guy today.. I'm thinking we should probably be on each others Christmas card list this year ;) anyway today he brought my Lulie Wallace painting.. oh lordy..it's lovely- Don't mind the unfinished styling of the console, I was waiting for the painting to arrive!

I painted today, oh boy did I paint. And then I listed.. 48 new paintings in the shop. Whew, and in a nice little warm and cool hue color story :) There are a few markdowns too.. gallery wall shop

Monday, how did you sneak by so fast?! Speaking of.. as soon as my kids went back to school it felt like I have way less time in the day to work..what gives?! Does anyone else have this problem? I'm back and forth to the school 3 times a day, but it's only 2 minutes away..

Hubs is designing the office, it's a great room off the kitchen with sliding glass doors to tuck it all away. If I'm allowed any influence ( ;) ) I'd love to do 2 of these Ikea desks like they did at Lonny-

The easiest decision for me was the kitchen. White, white and white ( well cream, cream, cream if we're going to be exact ha! ) Cabinets, quartz and tile..I need to narrow down floor color, I want something that feels a little washed out and pale.

Here's a little rendering of my fireplace idea and why I'm going to get Jenny ( MFAMB ) to paint up some awesomness for me. I won't have built ins but you get the idea.. fire, sconce's + art.

In the entry there is the typical oversized light fixture hanging from the second floor. I have an idea to nix that and do this style of sconce on the entry walls.. might be fun right?!

My Mom has an antique armoire, credenza, what ever you want to call it similar in style to this.. we're going to paint it up to achieve this look.. Love :)

So there's what's on my mind right now.. this week we will be narrowing down our exterior colors and I need to come up with my fireplace drawing.. hmm... more time on pinterest maybe ;)

Oh, and for any of you Calgarians wondering, we are building with Stepper Homes..I can't say enough good things about these folks :) :) We are building the Broadway model with a basement walkout.

I'm going to be sharing lots of decisions..

If you follow me on pinterest you may have noticed all of a sudden alot of pins pinned to the board IDEAS + LOVES FOR OUR NEXT BUILD.

 We're on the move!!

 In about 7 months that is :)

 In what feels like a complete whirlwind ( in a good way! ) we've made some pretty big decisions and lifestyle changes. In a matter of a week we have-

 a. decided to build a new house
b. secured the last walk out lot available in our current neighborhood
c. put my mom's house up for sale

 WHAT?! I'm trying my hardest not to be jumping up and down excited because I have to wait 7 months, but I'm still damn excited!

Here's what's going on..

 My Mom has stayed in Red Deer since my Dad passed away earlier this year. It's been hard for her because my sister and I are both and hour and a half away. My girls and I have made a trip up to visit every week, but that still leaves Mom with a whole lot of days to fill. With an aging house that my Dad really took care of, she's ready to pick up and start fresh. New city, new house. Here's where the walk out comes in :) 

Just a few blocks away from our current house is a wonderful pond. It's mature and serene and one of my Mom's favorite places to walk every time she comes to visit. We're going to build a big ol house with a walkout facing the pond, and Mom will have her own little suite with us. It's going to be amazing! I'm already planning and decorating Mom's space :) So she'll have us when she needs us, have her own space and the opportunity to start fresh. My kids are OVER THE MOON! You can imagine I'm already pulling inspiration for the house..

I'm not going to mount a TV, so I'll have an amazing spot for some wicked art.. I'm thinking I need to talk to Jenny ( MFAMB ).. right?!

I love how this master bedroom came together.. I think it's so so lovely..I actually sighed to myself when I opened the pictures!

It's amazing for alot of people to see how easy and efficient e design is! Designing from a distance is so wonderful for me..the relationships I build with clients and the rooms I work on are with people from all over the USA and Canada :) I'm a lucky girl keeping busy with design boards working from home..
