quick change

Loved this quick change DOMAINE did at Lea Michele's home. Within 4 hours they loaded her possessions into a storage bin and brought in a house full of new pieces. Crazy..a little. The after is gorgeous, I just wonder if they cleared it all back out after and put her furniture back in?! Right?

The details and the styling are amazing. They're organic, layered, with amazing textures and saturated color. LOVE.

design philosophy | providing a foundation to grow and alter through the years, I keep the core basic and layer in the current, creating a room that is innately yours. I believe great interiors are not found in one shop. I know you should feel a sense of calm in your space as well as balance, and revel in that gut feeling that it’s the right fit. DESIGN SERVICES start at only 10.00. See Sarah Swanson Design at the top left of this blog!

serene sensibilities

This cottage in Birmingham Alabama is oozing with charm - and is right up my alley. Style wise that is. But maybe it really is right up my friend Paulas..?

it's crisp and fresh, love the casualness of the above console and the limed floors.

the kitchen is the welcoming + warm, mixed dishware and open shelving feel very organic-

I have a few galvanized pots like the one below.. love the arrangement, or non arrangement-

the table - seriously, wow

A morning in this bathroom would feel like a day at the spa-

I love every part of this basement room-

( speaking of, I'll share the rest of mine soon )

The drapes, headboard, windows behind and ornate mirror, stunning-

the little pop of violet is quite dreamy-

After I wrote this I have discovered that there is also a beautiful post on this home at Pure Style Home -

tranquil with a hint of orange

a floating glass shelf, gorgeous lighting, pops of orange-

built ins, original objects-

great candlesticks + great art

I enjoy the consistency of the orange. It provides a bit of drama but doesn't overwhelm.
This penthouse in Boston was designed by Meichi Peng.

three things

To my absolute delight, Paula at Two Ellie shared some beautiful images of her home this morning. I am in love with this spot-

the chairs, grey paint and collection of plants in fabulous pots

oh, and the plate wall, mix of wood tones and the natural light

home port

I completely fell for this home when I spotted it on Style Chronicle. The simple mix of black, white and wood is stunning. The polka dotted lamps, ornate and simple mix of frames creates a very inviting work space.

I enjoy the gallery walls big and small spaced through the home. How divine are the little ottomans topped with a silver tray to hold bedtime necessities?

A spectacular display of jewelry.

simple stacks and baskets hold and display collections.

What a natural, lovely space.

butterflys & dandelions

Adorable, just like Harper isn't it?
Whimsical touches in fabrics and framed prints, sweet dandelion poufs on the wall and fun little butterfly's swirling around make this a room that any little girl would have sweet dreams in.
Now that tu.tu is just above and beyond cute. I can just imagine miss H twirling around her big brother in it -
Thanks Jen + Harper for letting us into your beautiful home again.

holiday home

Welcome to the home of my lovely friend Jen. We go back to the days of junior high. We both had moms who believed in our decorating talents. I had never seen a bedroom so full of noonie noos ( as my mother affectionately calls them )accessories, stuff. Good stuff. I believe back then her bedroom was dark green. Am I right Jen? Mine was a bright turquoise green. After those rooms we probably both found our love for neutrals. :)
Jen is a nurse, a mom of two sweet adorable children and a wife to her hardworking husband. She also has just that way of making everything look effortless. She's that good. She's crafty- I've seen her put Martha to shame. She has a way with paper like no one I've seen. Great style, great friend, great person. I love her dearly. She has shared her holiday decor with us. Here we go....

Jens home is beautiful. Did you notice the floors? Reclaimed wide plank wood floors. Stunning. Add to that an aesthetic that has a hint of a country, mixed with modern and add to that the natural elements like the floors and fireplace.
I love how the holiday decor blends seamlessly. I am so in agreement with this kind of decorating. It's flattering to the home, creates an environment but doesn't overwhelm. The wreath hung on the mirror, garland on the fireplace to the welcoming decor outside, it's all tied together and creates an environment that is spectacularly festive. An eggnog in front of the fire- anytime ;)
Thanks Jen for sharing your home.
