a peek in my tiny closet

There have been alot of FABULOUS closets being shown this month on my favorite blogs.. I'll warn you now, mines not fabulous-

It's tiny. And two of us share it! In the past few years I have pared down my clothes, limiting the pieces I buy and styles I wear-

It's just finally organized again. My mother in law gave me a box of wood hangers for christmas ( awesome! ), and those alone make my clothes and closet feel rejuvenated!

It was lovely to reorganize clothes by work/ casual & athletic, color, and get all accessories back together-

I can only have one season at a time in there.. the off season gets stored in C's room ( it sort of sounds like I have alot of clothes, I don't.. it's just that small of a closet :)

Everything in it's space, sigh

I love to have my spaces organized :)

Wow this is so neat! I am jealous! Mine is hurled in the wardrobe and the door is shut quick. Clever how you have stacked your shoes upright in shoeboxes ~ I haven't seen that before and it saves so much space. My wardrobe is tiny too, so I have full sympathies!

It looks like you have been extremely organized. I wish I could be that organized. I get half way through my cupboard and then I have had enough. I can never keep on top of it. But it is so refreshing when I tidy even a little bit. I Love sorting things into colours and having the same hangers always helps. I just picked up some more like yours from Ikea on the weekend. I can never have enough.

I'm so jealous! My master closet is small too and it's a total disaster-full of wire hangers and way way too much stuff. Congrats on getting yours done- it looks fabulous.

Well, if it is tiny it is certainly beautifully organized! I've been paring down what I keep, clothes, but mine is still a huge mess! Hopefully that will be a project to tackle this year! Janell

I love your closet...just proves that you don't need a large space for it to feel fabulous! You have inspired me!-we are lucky to have a large walk through closet, and it has always been boring and not a space that I enjoy spending time...that is going to change!!

It looks great. I think I might need to store my flats like that in a shoebox. What a great idea!

Ahhh, it looks great. It is amazing what matching wood hangers can do for you!

Looks great! I really need to do mine and get rid of some junk! Is that yellow striped shirt from Old Navy? I have the same one and in navy too. Great job!

I've also been cleaning out my closet - things are getting tossed, must be a January post holiday thing. Even when it's organized my clothes never look as tidy hanging up as yours. It looks like a clothing rack at a department store :)

I still think it is pretty fab if you ask me!! xo

I would love to see the before and after photos (thank you very much!) ... such a great share! I want to visit all those other sites too. But barring that I may just have to take a photo of my and my partner's unimpressive clothes closets ... and I don't believe that I'd bother with the aftershocks.

It is perfect ... clean and neat! I like the way your put your shoes in the crisp white shoeboxes! Your wooden hangers are the best! I just found your blog... I am your new follower!

This is so inspirational. I keep wearing the same thing that is easiest to pull out of my closet (which is full of things that don't fit thanks to post-pregnancy). I think I'll give this a try when we start Spring 2011. Only a few more snow storms to go!

love matching hangers! Our closet is too big! No really, it needs major shelving and organization. It's just one big room with tacky white wire shelves. It's definitely something I want to redo. I love how you organize!

you just confirmed it... wooden hangers are being put into the budget. so pretty.

What a wonderful closet...nothing quite like wooden hangers to make everything look uniform and organized!!

Sarah, your closet is perfect. I love how you store your flats. I'm stealing that idea for my own closet! And the wood hangers, I really need them too!

Wooden hangers are the best! I used to work for a closet design company, so since then, I organize by blouse, sweater, trouser, etc. and all wooden hangers or velvet hangers. So pretty and better organized for figuring out what to wear every day!! :))

I love the wooden hangers. I love that your closet looks normal in the good sense of the word. And you have some beautiful things. I see that you have some Club Monaco blouses and I am visiting them soon and I can't wait to see what I find.

Don't hangers make such a huge difference!? Somehow they make any piece of clothing look more expensive. I love what you have done! I hope to get to my own closet soon :)

Sarah it looks FABULOUS! You are so organized and you have some amazing pieces in your wardrobe. I notice some LV, Tory Burch, Burberry and possibly some cashmere. Your so classy!!! xoxo

I love that you are keeping things down to basics. Recently, I read the an article in House Beautiful about a couple and their young child who share a one bedroom in NY. Both couple shared a teensy closet, and the woman kept only a small classic wardrobe. Gosh, I'd love that. If only I could figure out what that means!
