reveal- the $9.99 updated lights are installed

So, we started with these $9.99 basic as basic can get flush mount lights from Home Depot.

Add a little bronze spray paint..

to replace the squiggly 3 light things I have had it out for since the day we moved in. Please note, I mean ABSOLUTELY no offence if you have these lights, I have lived with them for 2 years, it's the squiggle that's been annoying me..

One day we will replace with pot lights, but in the mean time ( probably 2 years ;) this $30 fix makes me smile...

it's so much simpler and cleaner I hardly notice them, which for me, is a really, really good thing!

We also finished up the trim work on the main level.. yay for completing projects!

  5. ahh, i had the same squiggle light in my living room that was the BANE OF MY EXISTENCE for a year. it finally stopped working out of nowhere, which i saw as a sign to take that sucker DOWN! so i did, but i just covered the spots with white plastic plate-sheet thingies from lowe's. your solution was smart!

  10. Wow! Looks great! I wonder if flat black would give the same effect...I have some fixtures that are polished chrome that I despise. Great idea!

I love the simple + clean lines...you too have me thinking....we have an ugly track light in front of the fire place that really needs to go...I am thinking of replacing with a small recessed light so it just disappears...hhmmm...where else could I replace lights?!..you are the best!...thank you for the inspiration. xo

  13. Fantastic! I can totally relate to the irrational hatred for the squiggle lights--we have the same in our apartment and I detest them. Your change is getting me to thinking...!
