new house files | good things are happening

We're 17 days from move in. 10 days from our walk through.. everything is finally happening now and it was such a treat to walk into the house today and see so much progress from last time. I could just stand in the kitchen and look around.. but nobody will let me ;) My girlies wouldn't give me a minute of peace today to take everything in, ha! We were on our way to the mall for a little snack and that was their #1 priority..

Since our last stop the cabinet fronts are on, the hardware placement that I took a risk on I love..

countertops, pendants, sink..

This is so lame but I am so excited to not stare at my microwave every night when I cook. It's always been above the stove.. I tucked it out of sight in the island-

They really don't photograph well, but the Hinkley sconces are mounted in the entry, there are 3 altogether-

Fireplace tile is in, it will have a grout that matches the ivory.. and my funky sconces I picked because they reminded me of a turtle shell or great geode..

the main floor will have a mid / dark tone hardwood and the carpet upstairs and down is this.. I love how this really shows the slightly darker trim-

the tile in the main floor bath and back entry is this.. love it in person-

can't wait to get this space together.. Kevin and I both work from home, so on each side of the room we have these awesome sconces that will center over each of our desks.. the flooring guy was working in there today hence why they are standing straight up, ha!

I couldn't decide on a fixture for the girls rooms.. I didn't want to do anything really girly girl because their rooms are already pretty bright with all the bedding and pillows. When I saw this light, it was one of those gut reactions of yes, that's it! And I love it. It's completely unexpected and once the rooms are set, I think it will be totally cool :)

design philosophy | providing a foundation to grow and alter through the years, I keep the core basic and layer in the current, creating a room that is innately yours. I believe great interiors are not found in one shop. I know you should feel a sense of calm in your space as well as balance, and revel in that gut feeling that it’s the right fit. Looks amazing. Sarah - congrats! I'm especially loving the light walls with slightly darker trim. Have always thought about trying that and now you've inspired me to go for it. Wondering what colors you used - they are perfect!
