the basement ( playroom )

Welcome to our basement..it's the girls playroom ( with a little spot for mom and dad to sit ), a space we developed from scratch oh, 7 months ago, that hasn't been getting much use.

It's a budget space. Tight budget :) There's alot of ikea, and alot of toys ( wish there was a tighter budget there ;) We added the trim this weekend, painted and arranged for the umteenth time. Let's see if we start using it now....

What a great looking playroom, one that I would certainly use. Ikea is fantastic for storage and I am hoping to go there again soon to get more boxes for the kids Christmas toys. G

It looks great Sarah, very stylish I love the Ikea ( so so wish we had Ikea in Tasmania) and the art. Isn't that LV book fantastic?

This looks beautiful. It's about good taste, not the money, right? ;-)

Before Christmas we bought exactly the same toy storage boxes in pink and red and I'm happy to say that the toys are in them!

It's cute! We have a basement full of toys too and somehow they end up in the living room every time.

Love all the stuffed animals in tubs... just the way it should be for a playroom, filled!

I think it's great and I love the color scheme - black/white with a splash of pink, fabulous. Doesn't look like a tight budget at all, nice job!

So cute! Is that rug from Ikea?? We're thinking of using it in our dining room....

People want to be at the heart of the home - usually the kitchen and the basement, no matter how beautifully designed it is, often is the right foot. However when your girls are teenagers they will probably love the room. Looks like somewhere I would want to be!

Ahh yes, the basement. The one space in every home we have ever had that has never been used to its full potential...but as long as it looks good I am happy.

Love the rug & panel, it looks great and all those toys!! Lucky little girls. ;)

It looks so fabulous and you must start using it. We just redid our basement a few months ago as well and turned it into a playroom and it's my favourite room in the house now- keeps all the toys in one spot and out of my living room-the kids love being down there and it's a real space for them to explore, which I love. It took a while to get into the habit of going down there (and it's always a little cold) but now we have it as part of our daily activity rotation and we all love it. Yours is so lovely so definitely, go down there! xo

I love that room!!! My favorite color [white]. It is so crazy that people just tend to hang out in the kitchen, no matter how small it is! Hopefully you will use it more now because it is so CUTE!
