keeping warm

YUP, it's that time of year here in Alberta. The flurries are starting and we are dropping to negative temperatures in the evenings, BRRRR. I won't complain.. I love the cosy, wrap up, layer up clothes ( for a few months anyway ..not 3/4 of the year we usually have .. anyway.. ) These pieces struck me -

a capelet from lands end canvas

my favorite, wool jackets belted with a brown leather belt. I added this style ( not this exact one, but a black jacket and wider belt ) to my wardrobe, and this will be my 3rd winter wearing it. I also love my high necked black wool jacket with my over the shoulder Louis Vuitton bag, similar to this one, mines a few years old, 3 actually, it was Kevin christmas gift to me after L was born :). sorry rambling. Something about the black / brown mix -

The lovely Catherine at Rikshaw Design has these llbean boots stuck in my head, aren't they awesome? Thanks alot C ;)

While it's not really cold here yet, I wouldn't mind having any of these things to keep me warm. I have really been loving those LL Bean boots lately if it snowed here more I would definitely consider buying them!

I'm with you- not so much loving winter that lasts for almost half the year but do love the wardrobe availabilities that come with. I'm just way cuter in winter clothes than summer clothes and could never live somewhere that was hot all year for this reason alone:) I love a black trench style jacket with a belt- I throw one on to take my daughter to school everyday and I instantly go from looking like I just rolled out of bed (which I did) to looking semi put together. I might have to try the brown belt - love a black coat with brown boots as well. I love that coat- where is it from???? You can never have too many black coats when you live in Canada:)

So since there is snow on the ground here then why oh why is it so hard to find fab sweaters and beautiful scarfs here?! My mission will continue, I have the boot area covered, but I need some fun stuff to accessorize them with. Maybe a trip to the new Chinook Center is in the decks for me.

Flurries already? I think I would cry if I lived in Alberta. Here in London (ON), we've got sunshine and I haven't even been wearing a jacket this week. So mild for this time of year.

Thanks for dropping by my blog.

I wish we had cold enough weather in Sydney to justify pieces like these, but sadly we're lucky to get a frost on the ground! I love that capelet though!

Hi Sarah!
I was re-reading old blog posts, which sometimes is a delight to re-visit a past version of yourself, and was touched by a comment you made quite a while back regarding my unemployed angst. I'm not sure why I never found my way over to your fabulous blog, but alas, I'm here, and I'm really enjoying it!
Cheers!
Roxy

I adore the wool jacket...not sure it's ever going to get cold enough in NC to wear it - 80 degrees today!

I just bought a capelet like that. it is laid out to wear today, how ironic! I will think of you. I LOVE a good layering piece
