kid stuff

Miss Calleigh ( the 4 year old who is NOT sleeping very well lately ) had a few little changes to her room this weekend.

The headboard she has used to be ours. It was a wedding gift, and has been moved more times, so it's a little dinged up. I think I'd like to paint it. What do you think, a creamy white like her armoire or something different ( like a pale, pale pastel? )

( eek, bad pictures, crooked pillows.. ah, it's real life with two kids jumping on the bed while trying to take pictures :)

This little stool is a Pottery Barn bath stool, but not everything needs to be used for it's intended purpose. Calleigh has a queen bed, so a little stool is helpful, especially when her little sister wants to play up there with her. I picked up the pink fabric remnant at a thrift shop in Swift Current last February when I went out with Kevin, and I have finally figured out what to do with it. So tomorrow, the stool will be pink.

and a little gallery..

More kid stuff to come, Laurens room got dressed up a little too-

What a lucky little girl having a big bed. I think I was in my 20's before I got a queen size bed - how tragic is that!!! How embarassing too!
I really like the art wall, maye choose a bed head colour from there? Otherwise I do like the sound of the creamy white.

I really like the picture gallery in this room. Kids love to see their stuff framed.

can't wait to see more!
and i love that you use white bedding in your daughter's room. in my experience, most people shy away from it!

Love using pieces of furniture in creative ways...and not alway for their intended use! I like the idea of painting the bed white like the armoire...love the framed pieces on her wall!!

Cute room! I love the pillows and the gallery is charming! Nice headboard - I like the wood but white would be nice or how about a pretty swedish grey? Maybe a new colour will help her to sleep! : )

oh it's hard when they're not getting a good sleep isn't it?! i think white would be perfect, but also like the green leaf colour on that round fuschia pillow, really bright and happy. or perhaps a softer mint julep green, or duck egg blue?

Like the direction you're headed. The pink fabric looks perfect. I might want to paint the headboard something different than white... there are so many light and luscious colors to choose from!! Good Luck! How many stores did Calleigh get to yesterday?
She sounds like her Mother's daughter!

Ohhhh can't wait to see it all done! Love the idea of painting the headboard & re-doing the bench! Too cute! Hope you get more sleep. My 2 year old son demands water at 12 & 2 in the morning. Oh my gosh... That kills me! Good luck!

I love white! Then you could accent with all sorts of other colors and never get tired of the headboard. So far really cute!

The headboard will look great painted. The pink stool will be perfect too. I have nieces (my sister's girls) named Callie and Lauren :)

I just redid my 4 year old son's room. He's into super heros, so I won't be sharing the after on his room. He thinks it's the coolest and that's all that really matters right now.

the headboard would look great painted pink, I think :) If you look at Sarah's HOuse she did a very inspiring girls room with a queen bed with a pink headboard. It have the room a great splash of colour and was a bouncing off point for other accents

I like all the bright pretty colors in your daughters room. The art gallery is adorable. Love the pink and yellow. I think painting the headboard would be great - maybe even a pale blue. If I had a girl I think the nursery would have had some hot pink and pale blue. What fun to be able to do girl things!!!

Why not paint the headboard in a complimenting shade of pink to match your fabric?

I think a white headboard would look great! white goes with everything and its very practical for a girls room. She may want to change her room several times while she grows up and it will be easier to create new looks using the white headboard. However im sure anything that you do will look great and the other colours mentioned in the comments sound good too. I look forward to seeing/hearing how it all turns out :)

What a cute room. My vote would be for the creamy white headboard. That way you could transition into anything....like the day your daughter comes to you and says "I like this color". But it is paint so you could always paint it again :)
That stool is going to look great in that pink fabric!
