jens pick, black doors

I am drawn to these images of black interior doors...I love how grounding they are within neutral decor.
Do you ever wish that you could just start over from square one and design your dream home from the ground up...every little nook...maybe this is why I dream of one day owning a second home...I love our existing home, but there is always something that you want to change {even when you just finished changing it, and swore that you would be happy with it for longer than 2 weeks! lol!}

Jen, I couldn't agree more! I am this close ( fingers pinched very closely together ) to doing our front + back doors :)

I know what you mean. I think it is more of the need to create and be creative than to be wanting a change all the time. That is why it is good to work for a client, it gets rid of the need. We creative types will always have wheels turning it is inevitable. I love black doors or even white doors with black moldings. If you get a chance and feel the need to see more black and white take a peek at my porch re-do post today, Kathysue

I wish that same thing, like, every 9 months. Tragic, isn't it?

I LOVE black doors and windows. I'm fighting for them on the next house. Or I could pick wood ones so I can paint them later.

I used to swear that I would always do white doors and trim. Always!
But lately, all I want to see are black or grey doors and trim.
I love these pictures!

beautiful! For some reason, it reminds me of some traditional Colonial looks... am I wrong on that? :)

Sarah, you can come for coffee morning or night whenever you like. It is pretty peaceful with the fountain and the birds. Thank you so much for leaving such a sweet comment, glad you stopped by!!

I love this look. I really struggled with whether or not I should do it when I painted my all windows sunroom last year. Whenever I see pix of it, I think maybe I made the wrong decision by going safe with white.

totally unrelated...but did you ever hang that brass pendant light??
I'm curious to see what you do with it since I noticed that craigslist is flooded with them for cheap.

I love black doors - they make such a statement. I do find that they look best when walls are white though -those seem to be the best examples I've seen. Great post! : )

I have been loving black doors for some time but I'm still not sure I'm ready to take the plunge. Maybe after the new carpet I'll feel different! Have a great day!
