around the house this morning

I'm pretty certain I won't actually paint, but I'm keeping the chips up for a few days just in case one of them strikes my fancy-
You probably know by now I'm terrified of color. I know dark beige probably doesn't apply..

As a treat ( for me! ) I made Janis's cookies this morning. Yum-
If you want to try these orange chocolate chip cookies, the recipe is here.

Love all your gray choices, thinking you can't go wrong if you decide to paint. On the other hand, your space is really just perfect as is!

who needs color when you have that fabulous desk. Me-oh-my-oh I adore it!!

i vote for the gold ish yellow, or one of the dark grays.
the best thing about paint (unlike a bad haircut) you can always go back.

Sarah, I say go for it. I really think you will love it. I am like the ones on the far right on my monitor. I like #2 and #3! I think it would look smashing with the white wainscotting. you have impeccable style so whatever you choose will be perfect. The room already has great bones and pieces in it so you can not go wrong. Happy Thursday, sweet friend, Kathysue

I think that room looks amazing. ALSO, How gorgeous is that desk? It reminds me of my console!

Painting colors on walls frightens me too! I'd rather paint a neutral wall color (usually gray) and then decorate with color! Good luck choosing one! I'm off to paint our bedroom gray! Hahaha! Oh, and I saw your post about needing to vent; I'm the same way. I want to know people's opinions, but sometimes it stings a little. It bugs me that I'm so sensitive, but sometime people just aren't tactful in the way they give advice. I hope your spirits are us a little higher today!

Oooh, they all look great. I know how hard picking a paint color can be (as I blogged about my angst). I know you'll be so happy with whatever choice you make. And yes, that desk is fabulous. Is that an IKEA chair I spy? I still want those around my kitchen dining area.

The cookies look yummy too! Enjoy!

I'm loving all the paint colours and your current room as is. If you want to freshen up then paint. If you don't like it you can always go back to the original.

The cookies look delicious!! I wouldn't mind one right now with my tea. :)

I know how you feel about painting colours - it's such a commitment. I like all the choices you've got there but am quite liking the grey tones (maybe just because I've had so much beige and taupe and grey is a nice little change without feeling like too much of a commitment). LOVE the desk and chair!
the cookies sound great - I'll have to give them a try! :)

OK. my vote is for the top middle. It looks like a slate gray to me. I'm in love with that color right now. I'm about to paint my bathroom, above the beadboard, something similar. Be brave --->> go for some color. :o) xo, Cristi

I like the 4 in the top right hand corner, I think any of those colors would look beautiful there

You know what? I actually prefer the color it is now! They're all great choices, but I like the dark beige you have now.
The paint chips are almost like art there - maybe just put them in a frame for a little color!
And I love those big leaves in the vase!!!

good luck !

i like the way those swatches of color look. what if you got several little canvases and painted them each of those colors and hung them right there just like that? hmmm??

Do it! I love the center color on the top row. Very dramatic.

i did not know that you were afraid of color. well you make white walls look fab. i do think with all of your black and white some paint would look so pretty it would make your blk & wht pop! here's the colors i would choose for you.

the 1st row- the 3rd one (looks like a grey lt. blue)

the 2nd (middle) row- really any in that row are great but the 3rd one is my fav (looks greyish with a hint of brown)

i say bring on the nuetral color. because none of those are really colorful which is my style. i like my house to feel serene.
