gifting decor

take a cue from your friends and family's decor to help when you are gift giving-

- wood gallery frame from Pottery Barn

-Hermes throw ( I know, I know, when we win the lottery ;)

- seashells

When you know it will be a piece that fits right in, they'll love it! Nobody wants to have to put out that piece that just doesn't work... right?!

good morning

As you are waking up and enjoying your first cup of coffee, all cozy in your jammies.. I will already be here. Helping my old store do inventory. It's sort of an alumni thing..we all go back to help. So have a good day, I know I'm going to :)

pottery barn

On Monday I am heading back to Pottery Barn to help with inventory. It's been 9 months since I left my assistant manager role there. I can't wait to see all my old colleagues and friends-
I am looking forward to seeing all the new spring product, like this new smaller porter desk.

great gifts [pottery barn]

Beautiful gifts can always be found at Pottery Barn. It's over the holiday season that I miss being there. Being a part of helping find the perfect gift - it was such fun! Enjoy these fun finds that would be lovely to give or receive.
from the top:
abigail silver plated frames, silver plated julep cup, twig reindeer ( my favorite holiday decoration!)
engravable luggage tags, silver plated dog banks, lead crystal ring box, alexandria jewellery box

kids rooms. Lauren

Whew. That's a good word. On Sunday my baby girl officially grew up, and out of her crib. Instead of whew, maybe sob would be a better word. I did. When I realized the crib was gone for good, never to be set up again.
I'm ok - really, I just had a moment.
Enter the terrible mattress on the floor stage. It's a little tough to make a room sweet with a big 'ol mattress on the floor, but here goes
Blue Pick stitch quilt and shams, pottery barn
Basket + cable knit euro pillows, pottery barn
Dresser, ikea
Lamp + flowers, pottery barn
pictures by sarah + abraham
butterfly's by almost sunday
The best part ( we didn't buy a thing! ) We went shopping in the house. Had it all. Gotta love that!
It will change, and evolve, but this is the room she slept through the night, the first night all by herself in her big girl bed.
I think it's a good start :)

mirror, mirror

back when I was still at Pottery Barn, I was coveting this mirror..but we could never keep it in stock. This weekend while visiting my family in Red Deer, guess what I found! At Homesense! Cheap! Happy me :) It will soon be hanging in the vacant spot above our bed.

Whether it's family photo's, a collection of prints or mirrors- there is nothing better than a large impact gallery. These 4 photo's from living etc show wonderful groupings. Random+measured.

it's all about outside

well, it may not look like this yet.. but my backyard came leaps and bounds yesterday. We had a patch of sod in the back that didn't take, so our lovely neighbors who were sodding yesterday, saved some extra for us. So that's done. I got the table I have been coveting for 4 years [floor model, 75%off] so I don't feel bad about putting it outside. It's coming along..and I'm happy :)

outdoor rooms

Transforming our yard was a major priority for us this summer. 2 little girls with no yard to play in is no good! With the help of family, we were able to build deck+fence and lay sod in two weekends. Basics done. Landscaping is so not my thing. We left our front yard clean and simple this year, with lots of mulched space for plantings next year. Grass and tree are quite happy and growing. Route to the back yard.. which should be fantastic, but it's not. Yet. Great deck with an awesome awning, fantastic chairs ..I should love it. But I don't. I am very unsettled sitting out there. It's not right [because it's not decorated]. I know, it's outside. For those of you who know me, it has been rearranged countless times. Not working. All I see is pressure treated wood. So last night we decided we will paint the railing on the deck. [my father will probably disown me]. We are going to do it black to tie into the house trim and door. It is the first step to happy homeowner :) When it's done to my liking I'll share pictures, until then.. enjoy these fantastic outdoor spaces!
