neglectful

I have been a terrible blogger this past week.. so sorry! I had my laptop break, didn't have the patience to blog from my phone, AND had to get ready for my Stella & Dot launch trunk show. So that's done ( it was AWESOME! ) thank you to all who attended, and thanks to my sweet husband who bought me a new laptop today, I promise I'll be back around. x

around the house this morning

I'm pretty certain I won't actually paint, but I'm keeping the chips up for a few days just in case one of them strikes my fancy-
You probably know by now I'm terrified of color. I know dark beige probably doesn't apply..

As a treat ( for me! ) I made Janis's cookies this morning. Yum-
If you want to try these orange chocolate chip cookies, the recipe is here.

three things [ around the house edition ]

It's not the bread caddy that I was originally thinking of, but this little guy struck me as cute-
I'm still on the lookout for the original..

My sweet sister bought me this fabulous Kate Spade stationary for christmas-

What's the word hummingbird makes me smile.

In the mailbox for me after work today this little lovely was waiting- Heather, you are fabulous, it came SO quick! Have a look at her gorgeous shop. Dahlhaus was featured in Canadian House and Home in April.

I finally picked a chair for my new old desk- love the mix of modern with old.. you know me :)

It's perfect + light.. and disappears in a good way-

I love finding the right little additions.

my new old desk, finished

There's no question that the pieces on it will continue to change, but the trim work is done ( thanks honey! ) and painted and I am just so in love with my little space-

desk makeover

waayyy back when I was a teenager, I was given this vanity that was my great grandmothers. I used it for years as a vanity, but it has been sitting now in my basement for years.
Time to fix it up.

enter dad and a lesson on sanding..

some sweet little lamps found at super store ( $10 each! ) that will look lovely when it's done.

It will get a second sanding this weekend, but in the mean time I'm getting a feel for it-

( AND, a huge thank you to mom, dad, jared, kevin, karen + terry, oh yeah and I think Ryan put in a few screws too.. for all your help with the basement!! xo )
