I'm gathering a little inspiration for built in bookshelves. Personally I adore them and hope to one day have an appropriate place for them. I have a client right now who does. I think they will be the perfect addition for all her storage and focal point needs. Hers would house a TV, have no fireplace and include some closed storage for all the TV components and stuff that goes along with kids! Instead of wall mounting a TV I'm seeing a flat screen on a swivel..for her space, it would work really well-
I'm taking a little inspiration from all of these!

I love built ins, we put them in the living room and dining room. The only regret I have is that on the glassed doors, the stiles are to wide, I would have made them thinner so as to have more glass. I actually just did a post that shows the dining room ones a bit.
Love the interior windows in the first image...I tried to fit those into our house also but it didn't work out!

Those are all great options...Sometimes I paint the built ins a dark color so the TV blends in...I know whatever you decide they will look great!

I love the inspiration photos you chose- especially the built ins that follow the curves of the window! Great idea! I think built ins, especially in white, are timeless and end up freeing up a lot of floor space with all that storage! Have fun with the space!
I have built in's that I love-- especially since the hubby and I built them in ourselves :) The only thing that I don't love about my built ins is that I only have unattractive things to put on them... so sad.
I think they're always a good idea.
