where the DIY art landed

The knock off art has ended up in the entry.. on my side of the road find ( remember that? ) I just brought it up from the basement. Can't decide if I want to leave it all rough and tumble or paint it up. Thoughts? I may hang the art as well.. I'm just living with it for a while

So.. what should I do with it? ( I cannot and will not paint all the little slats, so if it's getting a treatment, it's only to the outside! I was so scraped up just cleaning it! )

  5. Hi Sarah, It looks amazing as it is! But if were to paint anything then maybe paint the sides white. Let time decide :)

  6. Hmmm tough question. With your abstract DIY art maybe spray painting it a glossy black would work (that way you wouldnt have to paint all the slats) But I also like the rough and tumble although the sides look maybe a bit TOO rough. Not sure I am like the rough in this space but maybe in an office holding paperwork etc. Keep us posted on your final decision.

  7. I kinda like the original look. It's a nice rustic(?) contrast to the painted wainscot. It's such a cool piece!

  9. I think you should oil it and let it be, the patina is part of it's charm - what a great find!! Your vignette is lovely..

  12. I think it looks great the way it is! I love the rustic cabinet (not really sure what to call it:) against the elegant panelling detail of your walls- it creates a really nice tension between the two. Your artwork looks great!!

  15. I'm liking it! Maybe leave the character of it. If you add some new pieces on top it can balance it all out. I love the art by the way!

  16. First of all, love your "side of the road" find. It's hard to tell what shape it is in from this picture, but I say leave it!

As for your DIY art which I love, I think they would love amazing hung inside the wainscotting!
