upgrading a $9.99 light fixture

I had an idea, and we'll see if it pans out :)
It started with these VERY basic flush mount lights ( $9.99 at home depot )

spray with bronze spray paint to update the basic white, keep the brass screws, and here's the update.. next, I'll show you where they are going..

Great idea, I'm all about re-purposing light fixtures, in fact I just absconded with a brash chandelier that was in someone's trash. I have many ideas for this light fixture. Can't wait to see where yours is going.

Isn't spray paint the best?

Thank you for confirming what I have suspected I can do to all of the contractor flush mount lights in our hallways. My husband, however, will no thank you.
