I love adding these two elements to a space. Woven materials.. in baskets or blinds and leafy palms. For me, they complete my space. What do you have to have in your space?
I love tropical leaves too! At this moment, I have mini plants in Chinese bowls, dotted around the house (leftover from a guest blog stint), but I think I need to add a touch of the tropics today!
lately, even though it is hot as a monkey's unmentionables here, I need a lit candle to make me feel complete in a room, a first for me, (and a quirky pillow, not "designy" buy "indie." Oh, boy I am a dork. Plus, I can't spell.
I agree!!! Woven, soft, shiny....these are usually the materials I mix and layer in a space. I think this way there is more interest. Oh, and plants (something green) are a must!
ahhh you are always one step ahead of me, I love your blog. I just got back from puerto rico, and I'm thinking the same thing, my house needs green (air plants, giant palms, ferns and moss) tropical green!!!
Those big palm leaves look really cool. They remind me of the elephant plant my parents used to have (which is, I recently found out, what taro is made from - interesting!).
At the moment, my space has ... mess, and lots of it! I'm in the middle of doing my tax :/

I love both! We just have some branches in a corner, but I want a large potted palm plant one day when we get a bigger space!

I love woven textures too, whether baskets or knubbly fabrics - they really warm up a cool, white space and make it feel like home. : )
Hi Sarah,

Margaret
