I need to get mine checked soon too.

I know a big gap between having a headache and taking a tablet to having a migraine to having a hole in the heart. For me the headache is always behind one eye and all the way to the back of my head. Other migraine symptoms are sensitivity to light and often nausea. The only thing that would really work was a prescription medication "cocktail" that my doctor prescribed. Nowadays, when I feel a headache coming on I instantly take two Motrin. Don't wait for it to worsen. Also, caffeine can often help.

Good luck with diagnosing yours. I hope you feel better soon. Those freezer packs from Shoppers do help either on your neck or on your forehead just to ease it a bit. In terms of over the counter pain relief, I make a special trip to the US for Exedrin Migraine - it has aspirin with caffeine and acetaminophen and the formulation can't be found here in Canada - it's the only thing that works for me (other than the prescription migraine stuff). sometimes too much time on the computer brings them on, as does not eating regularly. hope you start to feel better xxlisaroyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09201063720578870254noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8575028680263259349.post-91139840765259936582010-08-17T13:25:40.586-06:002010-08-17T13:25:40.586-06:00I feel your pain. Mine were mostly hormonal and sinus related. IT seems to be the perfect solution, as I have not had a migraine in over a year. I would definitely get your eyes checked, since if you are straining them that can cause headaches. There are many many causes- for me its Gluten, too much sugar, lack of protein, dehydration, and change is weather (or barametirc pressure). Medicine like tylenol or advil is really easy to build up a tolerance to (and in my opinion its pretty weak, does nothing for my headaches). If you don't want to go the prescription route just yet try Excendrine Migraine... works really well. And if THAT doesnt work, I take Naproxen- its prescription but the BEST! The only relief he has found is through acupuncture. He refuses to take pain medication as that only relieves the symptoms and doesn't deal with the root cause. We've also discovered that it was a combination of neck injury (which was corrected through acupuncture and a structuralist chiropractor) and a sensitivity to light due to dry eyes and working long days on the computer. Find a good acupuncturist though, it can make all the difference.Taranoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8575028680263259349.post-70827067254175560612010-08-17T08:02:29.707-06:002010-08-17T08:02:29.707-06:00I swear by Exedrin Migraine (although you may need...I swear by Exedrin Migraine (although you may need a prescription strength migraine medication), and definitely go to the doctor to rule out anything serious!!Liz @ It's Great To Be Homehttp://www.itsgreattobehome.netnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8575028680263259349.post-49003859878289554432010-08-17T07:56:08.635-06:002010-08-17T07:56:08.635-06:00Yes, I suffer from them.
