April 15th

Today is a pretty tough day for my family. A year ago today my sisters husband lost a very courageous battle with cancer. He wasn't yet 40. Jen, Tyler + Jared, I wish we could be with you today - love you. xo

Its funny how it's the little things in life that mean the most, its not where you live what you drive or the price tags on your clothes, there's no dollar sign on piece of mind, and this I've come to know, so if you agree have a drink with me and raise your glasses for a toast..

from the song chicken fried by the zac brown band. It's a catchy tune that reminds me of my brother in law, and it makes me cry every time I hear it.

Sarah, how sad - I really don't know what to say but I do often wonder why things like this happen. Hugs and thoughts to your family.

What a gorgeous post..write Stanley's name in the sand, with pebbles or with twigs whenever you and your sisters family travel. He will travel the world and will never ever be forgotten. This is what we do in honour of my friend and her love of wanderlust xo

I am so sorry for your families loss. It is so hard to understand something like this and the hurt never seems to go away. In time there will be more happy memories of him than the sad ones. His love will go on forever in your families hearts. I know today is a hard one for you all. May God comfort you all and hold you close. Kathysue

I'm so sorry. I really hate when someone is taken too soon. Keeping the memory alive is the most important thing.

The chicken fry song is my Husband's favorite. It is catchy, as much as I try to say it's not ;) Maybe you should have some fried chicken and a beer for him.

Your family is in my thoughts today {+always!}. You are lucky to have such a wonderful family that supports + loves one another so much.
{i agree with nikki above, and think that some fried chicken + a cold beer in Stan's honor may help to brings a smile to your faces today as you cherish all of those happier times.}
