be inspired

We take inspiration from a lot of places and inject it into our own decor. Our homes are a reflection of who we are, what we love and what is important to us.
Michelle Adams is so right in her statement! The way I see it - keep it simple, don't try too hard and do what you love. Enjoy everything you bring into your home, if you love it, it will work.

notes

Give me a pad of sticky notes and I am a happy girl. I write down everything! Oh the lists and notes I would write given one of these stunning Lucite holders with monogrammed stationary. See the collection and endless options at iomoi. Have fun!

vintage ornaments

aren't they lovely? Tucked into my moms tree, dating back to my mom and dads first Christmas together. Sentimental and gorgeous. Good taste mom!

these guys have great taste. Visit their site, it's clear they take personal tastes into high consideration for each project.
How about that island. Holy Hanna.. I need one of those!

time for a new pair

This is my winter footwear. I love these boots unconditionally. Between 2 pairs of boots they have been keeping my feet warm for 5 years. 3 days ago, I wore through the toe. So sad. But they did last 3 1/2 winters. I'd say that's good value out of a boot.
So now that it's time for a new pair, some may try a new style.. nope. not me. Just want my boots back :)

a place for everything

While I had a hard time fitting my new french onion soup bowls into my cupboards last night, I thought of this image of Bunny Williams home. A place just for dishes. Heaven on earth. Can you imagine what her table settings look like.. ahh the options would be endless!

speaking of closets

closet envy! ( notice the door? ) How fabulous.

December [ spring cleaning ]

Christmas has flown by in a whirl wind, and if your anything like me you are looking forward to the organizing and rearranging that comes with taking the tree and all the decorations down. I enjoy them for a few weeks, but I can't wait to get my house cleaned up and freshened up for the new year when Christmas is all done. We went away for a few days, so my tree is still up.. usually it's down on boxing day! We have a big toy closet overhaul to take on, as well as the bedroom painting. I started last night by organizing my closet. So rewarding!
A great fresh and colorful room by Jonathan Berger. Love how green yellow and blue can mix so subtly. Image. House Beautiful.

blondie

great blond + great locks. Love all 3. .. I love a little "undone" to my hair :)

my kind of shoe

simply spectacular. Wouldn't you feel like a lady in these pheasant feather flats by Pedro Garcia? The vintage and feminine little pin is the icing on the cake. Just darling.

Happy Holidays

As we all start to head home for the holidays- looking forward to days off, drinks by the fire, time spent with friends and family-
I wish for you my friends + visitors a holiday that is joyous! Filled with traditions new and old, laughter and fun filled days of skating and skiing and snow fights. I hope you find under the tree just what you were wishing Santa would bring.

art deco

At Birks, stop to check out the ever changing selection of fabulous vintage jewellery. It's pretty fascinating. You will probably come across pieces that look familiar. Our grandmothers had great style!

jewel tones

what a spectacular room. Rich jewel tones, lush velvets, bold pattern. This space compliments and welcomes. I can imagine enjoying a few glasses of wine and great conversation with girlfriends here! image.canadian house and home

monogram

doesn't a monogram just feel luxurious? It's a lovely little way to spoil ourselves.
From simple to intricate, tonal to a bright punchy pop.

all wrapped up

today we made a trip here. Kevin and I have started buying each other just 1 gift for Christmas. Seriously anticipating what's wrapped up under the tree :)

dress up

a lean tunic, with a little more "oxford" and a little less ruffle than this cutie is what I'll be wearing tomorrow night. Add to it my JCrew Skinny jeans ( seriously who knew ), Tory Burch flats and some chunky gold and diamond bracelets I'll be set for an evening with friends. Can't wait! Enjoy your weekend!

Oh, deciding on the white for our master bedroom was so the right decision! It's like a weights been lifted :) I am going to do all white bedding ( which I had previously done for years, until we got our king bed last year I went with beige instead ) white blinds or roman, haven't decided that yet. But for fun I spent some time scouring etsy, and found some fantastic art. ( ordered ) I'm going to do a gallery wall above our bed, in mixed frames. From ornate gold to clean crisp white. I'm so excited! We have a few days off after Christmas, so we'll be able to get the painting done.
